The Steering Group welcomed members to the first meeting of Threads – Worcester Stitch and Textile Art Group at Perdiswell Young People's Leisure Club on Tuesday 3rd August. After months of planning, we were excited to launch the new group, to set out our plans for the format of the day and enjoy a wonderful time together, sharing the joy of textiles.
Members from all over Worcestershire, Herefordshire and even beyond were finally able to meet in person. After months of virtual connections and lockdown projects, it was a delight to hear the buzz of chatter, laughter and sharing ideas. The extensive programme of talks, workshops and opportunities for us to share expertise was launched – an exciting range of techniques is included. Homemade gifts were exchanged as a token of textile fellowship and 46 members had a thoroughly good day.
