Our other activities: |
01 August 2023
As I arrived at the Perdiswell centre yesterday the car park was closed and I thought this was a bad omen but how wrong could I have been!
Our meeting was simply a sit and stitch day. This simple statement no way reflected the buzz that was in the room. There were many small groups doing very different textile activities. In one corner a group of members were doing their own thing from quilting suffolk puffs to intricate black work in black and cerise whilst chatting away. The counted stitch team were in another area sharing ideas about projects, collecting items for Croome and looking at Sarita’s wonderful leather book. There were machines whirring away doing machine embroidery and embellishers producing amazing base fabrics. There was a table with some of the items for the Croome Autumn display. Rosemary was running a small workshop taking a group of members through needle lace poppies. The whole room was full of energy and enthusiasm. The room really reflected the true diversity of our very successful textile group.
After lunch, the members were given a presentation on the outline programme for next year and what a programme!
